A Holistic Admissions Process

At Southeastern University, we believe every applicant has a unique story. That’s why we take a holistic approach to admissions, considering more than just grades and test scores. We look at your academic achievements, Christian character, personal recommendations, and your desire to learn and grow.

SEU is committed to providing equal opportunities for all qualified applicants. Admission decisions are made without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, or ethnic background. We also welcome qualified students with physical or mental disabilities and do not discriminate in our admissions process.

Once your application and all required documents have been received, your dedicated admissions counselor will review your file and guide you through the next steps. If you do not meet every admission requirement, don’t be discouraged. Many applicants are considered through an individual review process and may qualify for provisional admission at the discretion of our Admissions team.

Our goal is to get to know you as a person, not just as an application.

Official High School Transcript

If you are applying as a first-time college student or have not completed a significant amount of college coursework, you’ll need to submit your official high school transcript. Your final transcript must include your final semester grades, cumulative GPA, and graduation date. Please note that a high school diploma cannot be accepted in place of an official transcript.

You may submit your final transcript in any of the following ways:

Mailed directly to SEU Chapelhill by your high school.
Delivered in the original sealed envelope provided by your school.
Sent through an approved electronic transcript service.
If you earned a GED, official scores must be sent directly from the testing center.

GOOD TO KNOW: Initial transcripts submitted before graduation can be used during the admissions review process. Your final official transcript must be received by the Admissions Office before the start of classes.

Official College Transcripts

If you’re transferring to SEU, you’ll need to submit official transcripts from every college or university you’ve attended, even if you don’t plan to transfer those credits. This allows our Admissions team to review your academic history and determine your eligibility for admission.

If you’re currently enrolled at another institution, you may submit an unofficial transcript to begin the admissions process. Once your coursework is complete, you’ll need to send an official final transcript.

If you’ve attended multiple colleges or universities, an official transcript is required from each institution. In some cases, SEU may also request your official high school transcript to verify high school graduation.

Your admissions counselor will help you understand exactly which documents are needed and guide you through the process every step of the way.
